The Keg Steakhouse now has limited edition cook-at-home Holiday Celebration Kits. We had the 3-course Prime Rib Keg Classic dinner for four people at home and enjoyed it paired with a Meiomi Pinot Noir. My family enjoyed it so much, they’re thinking of ordering another kit for Christmas.

*note that this photo doesn’t include all of the food included in the kit. There was a lot more salad, cheesecake and mashed potatoes!

This meal kit includes:

• 1 Keg Prime Rib Roast
•  Keg Bread and butter
• Caesar Salad (lettuce, parmesan, croutons)
• Garlic Mashed Potatoes
• Carrots
• Seasoning
• Cherry Cheesecake
• Keg mints
• And cooking instructions!

A nice, one-inch thick cut for each person!

Note that the prime rib roast comes raw, so give yourself some time to cook it. We followed the cooking instructions and it turned out perfectly (we highly recommend using a meat thermometer!). The meat was tender and the portion was the same was when you would order prime rib from the restaurant (we actually found the portion of the sides worked out to be more than if you were dining in at the restaurant, with the exception of the bread). At the price point of $175, we think it’s very reasonably priced for a 3-course meal for four. Yes, you do cook and assemble it yourselves, but it somehow makes it more special than getting straight delivery/takeout.

The Keg Caesar salad is one of my favourites. The garlicky dressing and always served with a lemon wedge, it’s the tastiest way to get your serving of greens in.A
It was my first time cooking prime rib, and with the help of a meat thermometer and the instructions included in the kit, I was able to achieve a perfect medium rare! I highly recommend purchasing a meat thermometer if you don’t have one yet.

Their other 3-course kits that are available to order are: Rib Steak Kit for two and Filet Mignon & New York Striploin Kit for two.

Thank you to The Keg for another wonderful meal, and Meiomi Wines for the Pinot Noir! (media gift)
